Box Armchair from De La Espada – Delightfully Boxy

The Box Armchair designed by Autoban has that oomph factor that is seldom seen in designer furniture, so like it or not, it will demand a second look. The design brought out by De La Espada (model 2275) has the ability to grow on you till you have fallen for it hook, line and sinker!
Arm Chair by De La Espada
Not that much an armchair as a sofa, (De La Espada gives three size options, the smallest of which is 100cm wide!) it will add character and depth to any setting and will become the favorite part of your den in no time. Taking inspiration from the 1950s Modernist movement, designer Autoban has actually used a box to create a simple and luxurious sofa. The modern sofa is available in Danish oiled oak and leather and another in walnut and leather, one a light pastel brown while the other a rich dark brown. Both options are solid and long lasting and a choice has to be made depending on the color palette of the room. The upholstery can be chosen from a wide selection of appropriate material.

The sofa itself is beautifully constructed with a classic buttoned quilt on the upholstery. The luxurious depth and thickness of the padding redeems the somewhat harsh contours of the box sofa. Overall, a durable and classy design in a sofa that will age well like good wine and bring warmth and pride every time you sit on it.
